Is presenting your ideas to others a difficult task? Are you wanting to better your presentation skills in a more professional way? Do you have a unique idea you want to share, but have no idea how to pitch it? If you said yes to any of these questions, the Preparing to Pitch workshop may be beneficial to you! This workshop will allow participants to learn how to accomplish the task of sharing their idea in one minute. Strategies for developing content and executing a successful pitch will be examined and put into practice. Attendees will also be able to receive feedback on their pitches and suggestions for improving their delivery. This free workshop is open to anyone (students, faculty, friends, etc.) who would like to gain helpful tips for sharing ideas that can be useful when presenting to potential investors, vendors, employees, or other stakeholders. First presenter of the workshop will be Kirk St. Amant, a liberal arts professor at Louisiana Tech whose strategies for effective communication provide insight for local businesses and international companies. Additional information will be provided by Caitlin Dartez, Career Services Assistant Director of Employer Relations and Recruitment Services, who will explain how to share ideas in a dynamic and memorable fashion.
