(The original concert was postponed due to the tornado) The tornado can't stop this beat! The Dixie Center for the Arts will close out its 2018-2019 season with the show stopping “Lisa Spann & Company: Dance Floor Edition” concert on Saturday, June 29. Lisa Spann & Company has delighted audiences all over the I-20 corridor and beyond. The group is made up of Lisa Spann, Mary Honeycutt, Paul Hollis, Carvel Avis, and Jeff Albright. The Dixie’s very own Lawrence Gibbs will be joining them on stage as a special guest. The group plays classic rock, blues, jazz, and hits from the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s all geared to fill the dance floor with cheek to cheek and boogie shoe dancing. The Dixie is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and revenue from our shows, along with generous donations and sponsorships, help keep the doors open and allows us to bring new and exciting entertainment to Ruston. Operating a historic venue comes at a great price and upkeep is often costly. We are currently setting aside funds to help replace the fire escape that has been rusting away from the venue opened in 1928. So lace up those boogie shoes and help us fill the Dixie dance floor and raise money for our fire escape. Tickets are $20 for Adults and students can get two tickets for $10 in the balcony with their school ID. You can purchase by calling the Dixie at 318-255-1450, by coming by between 9am-4pm Monday thru Friday, or at the door the night of. This performance is sponsored by The Lincoln Agency, Randy Graham & Joe Newton. The set list is primed and ready to get you moving and swaying to the beat. Bring out your whole family for a rocking good time. See you at the Dixie!
